Tuesday, September 8, 2015 - Leslie Barnes, MD, Joins Temple’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine

Leslie Barnes, MD, has been appointed Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at Temple University School of Medicine, and an attending physician at Temple University Hospital. 

Dr. Barnes earned her medical degree at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York. She completed her residency in orthopaedic surgery at New York Orthopaedic Hospital at Columbia University Medical Center.

Prior to joining Temple, Dr. Barnes was a shoulder and elbow surgery fellow at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. She specializes in shoulder and elbow disorders, including shoulder arthritis; sporting and workplace injuries involving rotator cuff tears; shoulder dislocations; and tennis elbow and pitching injuries. Her research interests include shoulder replacement surgery, minimally invasive rotator cuff repair techniques, and shoulder stabilization surgery for recurrent shoulder dislocations.

Dr. Barnes is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
