Musculoskeletal Trauma

Musculoskeletal Trauma

The Orthopaedic Trauma Service at Temple University Hospital provides comprehensive care of patients with complex musculoskeletal injuries. The service is a regional resource for the treatment of serious acute orthopaedic trauma as well as reconstruction of previous injuries. Patients are accepted as inpatient or outpatient referrals. Multiply-injured patients are managed through close collaboration with the surgical intensive care unit and general surgical Trauma Team at Temple University Hospital.

All conditions related to orthopaedic trauma are treated by our physicians using the latest techniques including minimally invasive surgery. We take particular care to individualize treatment for each patient and consider both operative and nonoperative management options accordingly. These include:

  • Fracture treatment
  • Management of fracture nonunions and malunions
  • Ilizarov techniques
  • Reconstruction of knee dislocations
  • Pelvic and acetabular fracture surgery
  • Treatment of bone infections
